Florida Ragnar Jan. 6-7 = 200 miles + 11 runners + 32 hours
+ a good cause
+ a good cause
What is this all about?
In May 2011, 12 friends got together in Napa California to run 200 miles over 34 hours just for the fun of it (and to raise money for organ donation). See that team website here, and read our live action blog here. An alarming amount of the team had hardly even run before. But everyone not only survived, but had an amazing time.
8 months later, the team Data Driven is back for more. Some runners are returning team members, some amazingly brave new members have agreed to come along, and more craziness will occur. This time we run from Miami to Key West, along swamps with gators, across bridges and towards the promise of Margaritas.
Also different this time is we have decided to fund-raise for a more personal cause. Our good friend Erin Petscher (wife of Yaacov, close friend and collaborator to many on the team) was recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, which has spread to her lungs and spine. We are raising money to help the Petscher family with travel and treatment costs. Please see the Donate page and give anything you can.
11 people, 2 vans, someone always running, no one really sleeping, more people eating than before, and one cause near and dear to our hearts. The only major question is: will there be a Ragnar baby?
